He breathed heavily as he ran, all four paws to the ground chasing after what would become his dinner. A large, majestic deer he was chasing after, with big antlers and a brown coat of fur that gleamed in the sunlight. The deer's pursuer was a strong werewolf, who stood about seven feet tall on his large, digitigrade legs. His name was Tyler. Tyler had never been in a pack since his turning a few years ago, but he was no stranger to hunting. Having been taught by a close friend after he was turned, he soon became a very skillful hunter.
His large, muscular frame, can allow him to lift up a car with ease. Not only did he have the reasoning and logic of a human, he also had the cunning instincts of a wolf on his side, making him a very agile and precise hunter. For a werewolf, this is the complete package.
Quickly he ran, dodging the many trees and shrubs the dotted the surface of the forest. Then, putting all the strength he had into his hind legs, he stood up and leapt onto the deer, crushing it beneath his immense weight. Still, it gasped for air. To put an end to it’s suffering, Tyler gave it a swift death by biting down on its neck. With his dinner caught, he quickly dug in.
Not even a few minutes into his meal, the scent of another werewolf then caught Tyler’s attention. He looked up from his meal with wet blood dripping from his muzzle. He quickly looked around for the other werewolf hoping that he wasn't here to cause trouble, then a low growl from behind caught his attention.
Tyler spun around, hoping to somehow reason with the other growling werewolf that sat in the bush in front of him. “Do you want to share some of this? There’s plenty to go around.” He said, reaching out his paw.
The other werewolf had a dark grey pelt, with streaks of white around his face. He stared intently at Tyler, not listening to a word he was saying. Then, without warning, he sprung from the bush, baring his fangs as he tackled Tyler to the ground.
They both went at each other, wrestling on the ground, Tyler biting and scratching but not being able to shake the other werewolf off him. The other werewolf then rose up his right arm, his long black claws glistening in the sunlight, then he came down at full force towards Tyler’s face. With his quick reflexes, Tyler then caught the werewolf’s paw midair, then using his own claws to strike him right in the eye.
The other werewolf then stumbled back off of Tyler then falling onto the ground with a thud, a little dazed at what just happend. Tyler quickly jumped up, the sun reflecting on his heavily scarred body. He made his way over to the other werewolf who still sat on the ground, his right paw over his eye.
“What the hell was that for?!” Tyler growled, now all furious at what had just happened. Still, the werewolf didn’t say a word. “Well, are you going to answer me or not?!” Tyler screamed at his defeated foe. The other werewolf sat there for a few minutes before a chuckle came out of his mouth.
“Why are you laughing?” Tyler asked, not sure what to make of it. He kept on growling still. All of a sudden, the scent of more werewolves approaching from behind made him spin around. A pack of five more werewolves then approached the scene, walking up casually to Tyler and the other wounded werewolf.
They stood tall, looking at the scene. Seeing the half eaten deer, then turning their attention to Tyler and the other werewolf. One of the werewolves from the pack ran over to help the now eyeless werewolf, leaning over and helping him back onto his paws.
“Jason, you okay?” exclaimed the pack member tending to him. He grunted before saying, “I… I’m fine. This asshole put up a good fight.” Pointing at Tyler. Tyler looked over at the two when he was approached by one of the pack werewolves.Taking one good look at his lean, muscular body, Tyler could tell this was the alpha. He stood about a foot taller or so than Tyler and had black fur as dark as the night. To top off his menacing look, his piercing yellow eyes having a bit of a contrast from Tyler’s blue eyes.
“So you’re the one who hurt Jason, heh?” He asked, with a bit of a snarl in his voice as he spoke. Tyler gulped. “Y..Yeah. I didn’t start it though, he did!” Pointing at Jason. Jason then lashed out at him, with his friend having to restrain him to keep another fight from breaking out. “Playing he said she said? That kind of stuff doesn’t fly here in Fire Fang pack.” The alpha said with a big smirk on his face.
Tyler folded his ears back and looked around anxiously, then he was probably screwed. “Now, I must admit, you gave Jason here a pretty good fight. That eye you scratched out isn’t coming back. Now listen,” He said as he leaned over Tyler, only making him more nervous than he already was. “We don’t want any more blood spilled today, so I’ll give you a choice.” The alpha said with a gruff voice. “A..And what would that choice be?” Tyler said, choking on his words. “Either join our pack, or get lost pal.” The alpha said. “Join your pack?” Tyler thought to himself. The alpha’s pack mates looked at their alpha with a surprised look on their faces, including Jason.
Ria, the one who was tending to Jason’s wounds, stopped and looked up for a second. “You can’t be serious Marty.” She said. “I am.” Marty the alpha said. “Now make your choice. I’ll give you a few minutes to decide.”
Tyler pondered around the idea of him being a pack. He’d never been in one and it’s been quite a while since he was last offered to join a pack. Knowing that leaving and hoping never to run into these guys again wouldn’t be a smart idea, he nodded his head and said, “I’ll join your pack.”
“Good,” Marty started off, “Looks like you’ll be starting off as an omega, then.” His pack members then gave Marty a look of disbelief. How could he allow someone who just beat up one of their own pack members into their pack? Didn’t seem to make too much sense. “Now, if you will follow me, and I’ll get you better acquainted with your new pack mates.” And with that, they walked off to the pack’s home.
